This is a remake of a track I made back in 2002, which itself was based on a composition I came up with on an old Yamaha keyboard when I was about 13, in late 1998 I think it was. I've tried to recreate it how it would have sounded at that time, with a rather vintage Oakenfold type flavour.

The Start of Something New

I barely remember making this tune. I think it was a result of a late-night brainstorming session, which I then stumbled on several months later before throwing out a structure in the space of a couple of hours. Lots of floaty pads, quite understated (by my standards) and nothing particularly memorable but it makes for a nice setfiller I think.
The file says 'Terrafusion remix' but this is the only version; I couldn't use the Terrafusion guise due to contract reasons. It's alot less anthemic than the other Terrafusion stuff but still maintains a tough 140bpm trance backing, another setfiller type track for peak/late trance sets maybe.

Outside Looking In

Kinda Tiesto-y feel to this one, or at least that's what I was aiming for. It combines a soft melody with a tough, pseudo-techy beat, which depending on how you look at it either effectively bridges styles or sits uncomfortably between the two. It's a bit different, at any rate.

Twixt (terrafusion vs mea culpa 2007 remix)

I always liked the original Mea Culpa remix of this tune and this remake was just to give it more of an up-to-date feel so it would fit in my sets easier; I haven't changed it much from a musical point of view.

Sacrosanct (terrafusion remix)

Pretty much the same as with Twixt, except this was only from 2005/2006. I loved the melody and felt it needed more bosh, although the original is probably still better...
2006
I think there are only 5 synths in this whole tune, it's one of the simplest I've ever made. Simple in musical terms too, with a basic up & down melody resembling the motion of its namesake. More of a chunky warmup track than most on here, although it's still pretty driving at 136bpm.

Lost You Somewhere (isoterra remix)

Just a little something I put together with a few samples from the original, keeping with the overall vibe but beefing it up & giving it a modern feel.
This track was inspired by Airwave's stuff (as in Laurent Veronnez) in terms of structure & feel. Ultimately it takes a while to go anywhere but there's a lot of emotion in it, with lots of subtle pads & leads working together.

Essence (isoterra remix)

Basically a toned-down (and abbreviated) version of my debut released track. It's still peaktime trance but alot more mellow & floaty than the original 140bpm epic stomper, with a different kind of main lead. It brings the melodies out nicer at this speed I think.

Eyes of a Perfect Stranger (isoterra remix)
DOWNLOAD |
Originally from 2004 but I've updated it a few times over the years; this latest one is from 2008 as you can tell by the filename, although all I ever did was change drum samples & tweak EQ levels. Quite dark & driving with some pretty evil pads and a nice filter trick in the breakdown.

Home (isoterra remix)

This was an entry to a remix contest held on the Tranceaddict forums; I'm pleased to say it somehow won! It's a pretty straight-up uplifting trance type affair with more of supersaw riff than the original, albeit one that bears a striking (accidental) resemblance to Billie Ray Martin - Your Lovin Arms. You may also notice the vocals have been pitched up a key; this was due to my then inability to timestretch!
2003
I actually only completed this a few years ago but that was essentially just tidying up an old project. This was how the very first incarnation of 'Beyond' sounded before Omar came up with the final riff. Obviously it sounds quite dated now but I wanted to put it up for nostalgia reasons, especially since the track has become a bit of a modern classic amongst me & my friends. I kept it as musically close to the original as possible and the 'updates' were just minor technical bits.
Again this is another one I've come back to several times over the years, as is evident from the filename. Quite an understated melodic trancer with alot of emphasis on creating an underwater type atmosphere... just imagine going for a spot of scuba diving in that breakdown :-)
